Manual Machinist
Manual machinists are skilled in setting and operating manual Lathes, mills and other typical conventional machine shop equipment such as drill presses, grinders, etc. They understand materials and metal cutting processes. They are able to plan machining routine when setting manual machines and operate it in order to produce quality machined parts in the most efficient manner. Manual machinists should be trained in reading engineering drawings, specifications and have basic knowledge of GD&T. They follow quality assurance standards set in the company, are proficient in the use of inspection tools and diligent in documenting of measured results. Following safety procedures and rules as well as maintaining equipment and an organized work area is required.
